A private channel-management tool
Dream Channels is a desktop command-line tool operated by Jesse Eldridge, an individual, to manage his own YouTube channels. It has no public signup, customer account system, or public service for managing other people's channels.
The tool requests YouTube management access and read-only YouTube Analytics access through Google's consent screen. Each authorization is bound to the selected channel's permanent identity. Credentials stay in the operator's protected local credential store.
Capabilities and current status
The command-line implementation supports preparing private, unscheduled uploads; reviewing video metadata and scheduling changes; managing playlists and membership; setting thumbnails; updating supported channel profile fields and banners; and checking channel identity and read-only Analytics access. Applying a change requires explicit operator action and confirmation of a reviewed plan. Uploads begin as private, with an explicit audience choice.
Channel identity and read-only access have been checked against the YouTube APIs. Write capabilities have been tested with mocked requests and dry runs. Live upload and publishing qualification is pending. This website describes the tool; it is not a working publishing dashboard or a production demonstration.
Dream Channels is not endorsed by Google or YouTube. Use of YouTube is subject to the YouTube Terms of Service.
